Lately, we’ve begun to think about our future and how demand will certainly grow. With this in mind, we thought it was time to push ahead with our expansion program at our 3D printing service bureau and invest again in a Professional Stratasys 3D printer.
The question was, do we go big or go for precision? It was a no-brainer to be fair so we decided on a second SST1200es. The one we have is certainly a workhorse that produces big, strong functional parts in ABS plastic.
With the new addition, it now gives us 50% more capacity so we can now get your parts to you even quicker. We’re not called 3D Quick Printing for nothing!
A recent large order to 3DQP required 130 parts taking in the region of 26 hours to produce 4 of them on the SST1200es and 2 of them on the smaller build bed of the Elite. Basically, it was 6 every 26 hours and we felt that no real progress was being made. We shipped the parts out to our customer from our 3D printing service bureau in batches of 30 and it seemed to take well over a week or so to get up to 30 units. However with the new addition we doing 4 on one machine, 4 on the other and more often than not 2 on the Elite. So that’s basically 10 per day! We’re well chuffed with the speed we’re getting them out the door now and I bet our customer is too!
Just to remind you all that at our 3D printing bureau service we only use Professional Stratasys 3D printers that use FDM technology. We now have three machines. One is a Dimension Elite 3D printer that has a build envelope of 204 x 204 x 305mm and the other two are the Dimension SST1200es that have a bigger build envelopes of 254 x 254 x 305mm. These are considered to be mid-range as far as build envelopes go.
